A special video..

Emma's 3rd Birthday from Ashley Marie Cunningham on Vimeo.

A video I made for my cousin Emma who just turned three. She was adopted from China and we couldn't imagine our lives without her! The video is just all shot on an iPhone so that is why the quality is like that! Just something fun!

Happy tuesday!

Motivation Inspiration.

So its 1:36 AM and I have never been more productive. I redid this blog (yay!) which is something I have been wanting to do for such a long time. It just needed revamped and now it is splashed with the lovely color of blue so it is feeling even more like my little space of internet than ever before.

Are there times where you watch something or you listen to a song and you feel either so much emotion to do something or you think about the future and feel so motivated to get to that place you want to be?

That happens to me a lot. I feel inspired to do so many things at once which isn't realistic because I need to focus on a few things in order to get something done! So the list maker in me has decided to make a list of things that I can start thinking/working on to maybe accomplish some goals that I would like to do in the future.

Items to focus on:
1.) Nursing
2.) Blogging
3.) Photography/Videos
4.) Helping People (in a really awesome way)
5.) Music

I think this is a list that can help me kind of organize my priorities in some type of way!

I mentioned that I feel inspirited my certain videos or songs when motivated and below are some that I really enjoy.

Hope you enjoyed those videos! What is inspiring you today? What makes your list?

Farmer's Market Lovin'.

Lately I have been really trying to be better with my choices in food. I am saying this with a grain of salt because lets be honest I had fried rice for dinner the past two nights. However, I really have been trying to eat better and for the most part its been working out great! It is hard on a budget sometimes but my roommate and I go to the farmer's market down the street from us and it is a place of magic. Cucumbers that are actually real are only a dollar. (Thank you baby jesus.) I decided to take some pictures of it today not only because the weather was perfect but the food was too.
^I tried the strawberry cheesecake one. I would have ate 47 of them.

^haha many melons!

^But really those berries look so good.

^ A creepy man after I took this told us we could have free flowers. We scurried away.

^ Roasted red pepper noodles?!?! Oodles and oodles of noodles.

^ get it?! A FLOWER BED. In my head I am funny.

What was your Tuesday like?!

The Very American Weekends.

So this is a little late… but better late than never right?!  So I had an amazing last two weekends actually! This whole living thing is getting easier and a lot more fun when friends come to visit. Pittsburgh is surely starting to make a place in my heart (as cheesy as that sounds) and I think I am starting to like it a lot.  I think the more you let something in, the more you allow yourself to like it. In the beginning of June I was not for this city really at all. But after you know accepting I am here and going to do things on my own and new things with my friends the easier it is to live here and of course the more fun it is.
So Pittsburgh, I am here and loving it right now! So, I have a lot of photos to show you guys of the past weekends and boy, was it fun.
First photos: Pirates game. The Pirates is Pittsburgh’s professional team of baseball and I enjoy a game but I think it’s the cities’ view in the stadium that really makes it the reason I go there. Who ever created this stadium- a thousand awesome points to you because it is unbelievable. I am pretty sure it is the best view you can have of the city on a really clear day. Seriously, just look below because I feel like you can then understand.  Also some of my best friends are featured!  Let me take an second to introduce to them. Nathan is the shorter of the boys with the sunglasses (we have to forgive him for those- “they are sports sunglasses Ashley” –whatever!) and then theres Donny who is the tall boy who’s recent hair change has made him think he is the best around. Foolish boys! And then there’s Cait who is my longest best friend (8 years guys!) and she’s the most hilarious person you will ever meet.

Now on to the fourth of July. Oh, America happy birthday!  Casey  (roommate) and I took it upon ourselves to have people over for the fourth and it was actually more fun than ever anticipated. I never obviously had the chance to have people over a place of mine so it was awesome. I made store bought cupcakes and it was everything I imagined. We had a great time just enjoying each other’s company. Another awesome thing we got to do was watch the fireworks off the 10th Street bridge in the southside of Pittsburgh. AMAZING. The pictures make it look like they were really far away but they were beautiful. Also, the fireworks reflected off the buildings  and the river which was probably the coolest thing to see. The perks of city life I am starting to see.

I am sure loving you Pittsburgh.

So to anyone who reads this- how has your July been?! I want to hear all about your stories and if you have a blog link it below so I can explore some of your lives.

How to make friends?

I am the type of person who hangs out with a small group of people. I prefer this because I really like knowing people well. I also am a shy person at first. I am a sarcastic, weird, and awkward person.( aren't we all though-really?)So I am scared usually at first if people will be open to me and how I am.

My problem: I don't know how to make friends.

I feel like in high school I was friends with many people and then my best friends kind of just fell into place with what I was doing in my life. Alicia with the plays and Caitlyn for some reason in chorus during sixth grade. Then college you live with a bunch of people and you kind of just sort out who because your friends based on that.

But now it is just me and Case in Pittsburgh and I am not sure how to start that close group of people from scratch. There are friends that I have in school but clearly schools not in session and there's some time before that happens and by god I want to make a friend or two before then! I am starting to go out more. Like this friday I am going to an art show (by myself) and I might nearly shart myself from awkwardness but maybe I will meet someone? Or let's be real I may just be quiet the entire time and look at the art like I know what it all means and be really philosophical looking? (I'll even wear black- lolz).

So how have you guys done it? Moved to a new city and made friends. It is all a little daunting.
Hopefully things only go up.
But for now I am going to talk to someone new this week.
