The Very American Weekends.

So this is a little late… but better late than never right?!  So I had an amazing last two weekends actually! This whole living thing is getting easier and a lot more fun when friends come to visit. Pittsburgh is surely starting to make a place in my heart (as cheesy as that sounds) and I think I am starting to like it a lot.  I think the more you let something in, the more you allow yourself to like it. In the beginning of June I was not for this city really at all. But after you know accepting I am here and going to do things on my own and new things with my friends the easier it is to live here and of course the more fun it is.
So Pittsburgh, I am here and loving it right now! So, I have a lot of photos to show you guys of the past weekends and boy, was it fun.
First photos: Pirates game. The Pirates is Pittsburgh’s professional team of baseball and I enjoy a game but I think it’s the cities’ view in the stadium that really makes it the reason I go there. Who ever created this stadium- a thousand awesome points to you because it is unbelievable. I am pretty sure it is the best view you can have of the city on a really clear day. Seriously, just look below because I feel like you can then understand.  Also some of my best friends are featured!  Let me take an second to introduce to them. Nathan is the shorter of the boys with the sunglasses (we have to forgive him for those- “they are sports sunglasses Ashley” –whatever!) and then theres Donny who is the tall boy who’s recent hair change has made him think he is the best around. Foolish boys! And then there’s Cait who is my longest best friend (8 years guys!) and she’s the most hilarious person you will ever meet.

Now on to the fourth of July. Oh, America happy birthday!  Casey  (roommate) and I took it upon ourselves to have people over for the fourth and it was actually more fun than ever anticipated. I never obviously had the chance to have people over a place of mine so it was awesome. I made store bought cupcakes and it was everything I imagined. We had a great time just enjoying each other’s company. Another awesome thing we got to do was watch the fireworks off the 10th Street bridge in the southside of Pittsburgh. AMAZING. The pictures make it look like they were really far away but they were beautiful. Also, the fireworks reflected off the buildings  and the river which was probably the coolest thing to see. The perks of city life I am starting to see.

I am sure loving you Pittsburgh.

So to anyone who reads this- how has your July been?! I want to hear all about your stories and if you have a blog link it below so I can explore some of your lives.

Moving on up.

Am I really moving out for good??
I am an upcoming junior in college so I should be used to not living at home... right? College is all about exciting and changing times that kind of shapes us into a semi-adult. But now moving into my own apartment with real bills, no dining hall, and in a city it all seems a little daunting to me. I feel like my brain is going a million miles a minute and I just need to slow it down (cause I really need to learn how to cook in 3 days..). I am thankful by all means for having an opportunity to live on my own and a great job that lets me while I am in school but yeah the mental meltdowns will commence June 2nd when its just me and my roommate (Casey) taking on the city. I really am interested to see what these three months bring though. I really hope some adventures and stories that I can tell and remember for a long time. I am excited to embark on this new adventure and share it as well! But a little piece of my heart will be in Ohio.
My questions for this summer:
  • Will I end up being able to make a pinterest worthy meal (let's be real but a girl can dream..)
  • Will love be in the air? (I will let you all in on that one!)
  • New friends in store?
  • Being able to manage money successfully?
  • Run 15 miles and live healthy?
I can't wait to come back to this post in August and see what happens. But until then I will just be packing my life away. I think I will include some tips for moving in a city in a later blog post.

I think I may start a book club on here.
Currently reading for the 3rd time: The fault in our stars by John Green.
What are you reading?!
And what were your college jitters or moving fears?

Marrying Young.

Many of the blogs and people I follow on Instagram are young people who are married. I think that is a goal of mine in life but one that I am not really sure is achievable. I love the idea of meeting someone in my early twenties (which is now in my life-how terrifying) and spending the rest of my life with him. I see many people do this and fail but also many young people who do so and prosper. I kind of question (which I am aware I shouldn't) will I actually meet the man of my dreams in few years time? I truly hope so but a part of me questions that highly. I have so many dreams like moving to NYC or LA and caring for the sickest of kids with nursing and I am worried maybe a man just doesn't fit into the picture until later. And maybe I am just a control freak who thinks about these things and JUST NEEDS TO LET THEM  HAPPEN FOR GODS SAKE. But sometimes I cannot help myself because I see these wonderful moms and wives and just am jealous. I do understand that I do not NEED a man trust me I got that one but with recent events and all that hoopla I just would look forward to meeting someone who could possibly be the one. Then that goes into the question of will he really be the one and how the hell am I supposed to know if he is truly. MODERN FILM, TV, and ROMANTIC NOVELS YOU HAVE RUINED ME. As i digress, I guess I will keep ya'll posted if I do in fact meet "the one" and to all those young couples who found each other I say hats off to you and enjoy your life to the highest standards.

Part 1-Choosing Happy

Enjoy today.
Look around you. You may not have the perfect life you have always envisioned but never, ever let that stop you for enjoying the moments and little things of today. Today might be the day for divorce papers, saying goodbye to a loved one, a new promotion (you deserve it!), a boring day, or the day of your wedding (congrats!). Whatever day it may be soak it in. You have an awful no good day? Bad days are inevitable but if you think about what is good and positive at the moment then maybe that bad day wont be so bad. You may have lost your job but that still doesn’t make you any less of a person. You are an awesome human being that now gets a chance to explore a new job or even make a life change in your career. Think about how amazing that is.  Take the time to enjoy the traffic jam on the way to work; you can discover great music that you may have never heard otherwise. Be thankful for the person who spills coffee on you—you needed to get rid of that shirt anyways. It is all about perspective. It can be a really, really good boring day or it could be a really bad boring day. The choice is up to you. Today is now and there is no going back.

Internet People.

I just wanted to take the time out to say something you all ( all meaning anyone who reads this blog where as I am not really sure who does, if you do you are lovely, but anyways on to the post..) so something you probably know by being internet people yourself and that is that you are all blooming AWESOME. I don't think I have ever felt more happy knowing that other people obsess over the same things I do for example: one direction (Liam you have my heart), makeup, being single (and not so ready to mingle), and just for knowing what can make me laugh until I cry. Tumblr and Bloglovin is so responsible for this. Tumblr makes me feel like I am not the lonliest person and the world and Bloglovin lets me live out my dream life in other people's fascinating lives. Youtube to make me love people I don't know and make me aware of products that I simply can't afford. Then Buzzfeed to make me know what is going on in the world but at the same time be HILARIOUS. Is it healthy? No. But I am not talking about being healthy! So thank you Internet for making me laugh until I cry and having the best sense of humor ever. Now, if only a boy could make me laugh like you all.... then we would have another thing comin.
Hehe. Love you all,
Ash
